The battery life of the sensor is dependent on a few factors. Most notably:
- Reporting frequency (how often does it send it's measured data)
- Signal strength (how easy can it transmit it's data)
It can thus be difficult to predict how long a battery will last.
To be sure your sensors do not run out of their battery, it is recommend to periodically check the Network Status page. Here all your devices are listed, with their battery status.
Batteries that get low (for mslv5 it means under the 3.2V) are placed in the "Devices with issues". You will usually have around 2-3 months to replace the battery before it runs out. (When it gets near 3.05V).

It is also possible to set a notification on the battery status.
To do that, in the Network Status page, click on the Notification tab and select the "Power" checkboxes:
