What is open data?
Munisense has built-in support to publish sensor data as open data. This means that the data is periodically exported to our open data portal and publicly available for the internet to see and use.
Here the data is displayed in a map view and the data can be viewed per measurement point.
There is are also a webservice (REST API), with which third-party developers can further work with the data, use it in apps, integrate it in other systems and perform analyses.
Please contact our sales department if you want to enable this for (a portion of) your data.
How can measurement points in the portal be published to the open data portal?
If you have never published your objects to our open data portal before, please contact our sales department as some manual configuration needs to be done by our developers to enable you to do this!
Only admins with group acces are able to publish a group to open data. Publishing a group is a relatively simple proces.
- First go to the Group page and select the group you would like to publish to our open data portal.
- On the settings page of the group you can select the option open data.
- Enabling this will add a new user called open data to your group. This user will be used to export your objects and data to our open data portal.
- In the settings of the group an open data group description is now visible. You can use this to provide extra context as well as insert images for the open data portal.
- Your objects will be synchronized with the open data portal. This happens once per day. Please give your objects up to 30 hours to appear in the open data portal.
Are descriptions and images of measurement points configurable in the open data portal?
Yes, they are: visit the Metadata tab of the Tube Dashboard for the specific measurement point. Click on the button "Edit" to see the fields "Open data portal text" and "Open data portal image" become editable.
After the next synchronization that specific measurement point will show the description and/or image.
