Setting limits in a Sound Measurement Point and use them to generate Sound Events

Support -

Setting limits over a period of time

To set limits in a sound measurement point over a period of time, go the list of measurement points and select the correct group first. If you also want to generate Sound Events, make sure that this is a Sound Event group (You can do this by enabling "group is used for sound event(music events)" in group>setting). Edit the measurement point which you want to set limits for by clicking on the pencil icon.

Find the limits tab to configure a set of limits over time by selecting a sound property first.

Click the Add limit button to add a new limit for this property. LAmax is currently not supported by the Sound Event module.

Add limits for every day, a series of days or specific days only. For generating Sound Events, only limits with a frequency of "on the days" or "on the day" are supported.

In the following a example, a set of limits for LAeq,3min moving average and LCeq,3min moving average are configured, with day and night limits over the period 10-04-2023 until 14-04-2023. Don't forget to click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Optionally, go to Notifications -> Group to configure notifications.

After notifications have been created here, the underlying limits (for the selected users) will also be visible as a threshold line in the graph.

Generate events for the Sound Event module based on limits

When a series of limits has been configured, click the green Generate Sound Events button. If the current group is not a Sound Event group, the button will not be visible. A pop-up window will open to allow you to review the Sound Events that are about to be created.

Scroll through the list of Sound Events that will be created to review them. Be sure to pay attention to the group in which the events will be created. Click outside the pop-up or on the Cancel button to dismiss the pop-up window and make changes to limits before generating Sound Events.

If there are existing Sound Events that have been generated based on limits, it will show them in the bottom list. These will be overwritten when the new Sound Events are created.

Sound Events will only be generated based on the LAeq and LCeq properties and only for periods in the future. When everything is correctly configured, click the Create button.

The newly created Sound Events can be found in the Sound Event list of the corresponding group.
