Graphing sound data

Support -

The Graphics page in the portal is a powerful way to visualize your data.

Depending on the time range selected (like Last 15 minutes or Last day) an appropriate sample rate will automatically be chosen.

Either Unsampled data or sampled data will be shown in the graph.

Unsampled data

In this example, 15 minutes of data are plotted and no sampling is done (the subtitle of the graph reports: Unsampled data).
This means each and every measurement the sensor has measured is shown as an individual data point.

Sampled data

In this next example an hour of data is plotted. Here, samples of 4 seconds are automatically chosen, the subtitle of the graph reports: Samples of 4 seconds.

Visualizing all individual measurements the sensor measured in that time would mean the graph needs to plot 3600 data point, which makes interpreting the data rather difficult. By using automatic sampling only 900 data points need to be visualized.

Choosing a custom sample rate

By clicking on Advanced in the Configuration section you can set a custom sample rate if desired.

Interpreting sampled data

Sampled measurements are timestamped at the beginning of the sampling period.

In this example the average LAeq between 13:00 and 13:10 is represented by the left-most data point.
