Graphing Lden

The Lden (Day-Evening-Night level) is offered in 2 different kinds next to the separate Lday, Levening and Lnight levels:

  • The standard Lden (Lden,23) is measured from 23:00 to 23:00.
  • The alternative Lden (Lden,7) is measured from 07:00 to 07:00.

Both properties apply a penalty of 5 dB(A) for the evening period (19:00 to 23:00), and 10 dB(A) for the night period (23:00 to 07:00).

The Lday, Levening, Lnight levels can also be plotted individually from the other values:

  • The Lday is measured from 07:00 to 19:00
  • The Levening is measured from 19:00 to 23:00 with a penalty of 5 dB(A) applied
  • The Lnight is measured from 23:00 to 07:00 with a penalty of 10 dB(A) applied

Exporting Lden

In the menu click on Export Data and create a new Export Job:

Important: Set the sample rate to 0 seconds:

All 5 values can be exported by selecting them under Export Results (CSV) and using the preset button for Hour levels. Select the less often used Lden,7 manually if desired:

If data is available within the chosen period, it will yield a CSV similar to the following example where all values are timestamped on the beginning of each measurement period:

Availability

Some sound meters have the ability to calculate the 5 different Lden values internally and report them directly without additional calculation being done in the portal.

If these features are not available for your sound meter, the portal will fall back to the existing Lden calculation to calculate all of the values.
