How to create mass (bulk) notifications

Support -

Recently we've introduced a new feature in the portal: a page to quickly assign notifications (in bulk) to multiple objects. Previously you needed to create a notification for each object. So if you for example want to monitor an entire group this page is what you need.

This page can be accessed on the (admin) Notifications page, look for a button with "Bulk management". If you do not see this button please contact support so we can verify your portal has this new feature enabled.

Click the button highlighted above to go to the new page.

Overview

When you first visit the page you should see something similar as displayed above. Please make sure you select the correct group / object type and object property (for example water level, LAeq, wind speed) for your notifications. If you make an incorrect selection it is possible that no objects are displayed.

Compliance Criteria

This page will use your existing compliance criteria but you can choose what criteria you will see on the page. In the screenshot above the criteria "Water Level too Low" and "Water Level too High" are selected.

To add more Compliance Criteria please click on the button marked below:

Feel free to choose as many as you like. Your selection is automatically saved so the next time you'll access this page you will see the same criteria. If you want to remove a criteria please click on the small removal icon next to the name of the criteria. This is also automatically saved.

Tip: Removing a compliance criteria from the view does not remove the notifications. See this as a 'hide' option to you can focus on what is important at that moment.

Using the page (creating notifications)

Once the correct group / object type and object property is selected you are ready to create notifications. To enable (or disable) a notification simply click on the appropriate button for either Email or SMS. This will (by default) activate or deactivate the notification for your account. The button will also turn green so you know the notification is activated. To set a notification for ALL objects (in the selected group) you can use the 'all' button. Again this will activate either the Email or SMS option.

Example where several notifications are set. Note that the "Water Level too Low" is enabled for all objects (Email only)

Manage other (multiple) users

If your user account had the correct access rights you can also manage the notifications for other users. For this you can use the user selection displayed in the top left corner (see screenshot above). Please note that you will only see users that also have access to the selected group.

Feel free to select multiple users. You can also click on the cross icon to remove the users from your selection. Tip: use the search to quickly find the users you are looking for!

Again a click on a button will enable/disable the notification but with that addition that this is done for all selected users.

When having multiple users selected the colors are a bit different. A solid green button indicates "enabled for all selected users" so, in the screenshot below object 4 and 7 have SMS enabled for the 2 selected users. However a striped button indicates that there are notifications enabled for some (but not all) users. In the screenshot below an Email notification is enabled for object 9 and 12 but not for all users.
